For over eight centuries the giant fir trees of Elk Creek have been steadily growing taller, nourished by the lush rainforest that surrounds them. For the first seven centuries of their lives the landscape of the lower Fraser Valley changed little, ebbing and flowing with the natural processes of the occasional dry spell, wind storm, river flood or forest fire.
