If you appreciate the work that the Wilderness Committee does and realize that it needs to continue beyond your lifetime, consider putting us in your will. It’s simple and it could be one of the most environmentally positive actions you ever take. This investment provides us with a more stable future, allowing us to put more of your dollars into our work to protect wilderness and wildlife.
For over 30 years, people that love Canada’s wildlife, big trees, wild rivers and healthier communities have donated or become members of the Wilderness Committee to protect our wild species and spaces. Some of you give silently, some attend events, others join the board of directors, and over time, all of your generosity has helped us protect wilderness areas and wildlife, and make the world a better place for everyone.
Through the years, many supporters began to make a generous gesture to show how much you believe in our work: you designated the Wilderness Committee as a beneficiary in your will. These bequests to the Wilderness Committee have helped carry us through hard economic times, helped strengthen our infrastructure, and contributed to our larger campaigns.
We are grateful to all donors who have remembered the Wilderness Committee in their wills and left donations in memory of loved ones. While we respect the privacy of anyone who chooses to do so, we also love to acknowledge such support--please specify if you would like to include a written testimonial on our website.
To find out more about bequests and other planned gifts such as making a gift of stocks, bonds, or mutual funds or naming the Wilderness Committee as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy or RRSP, please contact our Comptroller, Matt Jong, or our Development and Program Director, Beth Clarke, at (604) 683-8220, or toll free at 1-800-661-9453.
Thanks to June Thompson and her donation in loving memory of Cam Gillespie, an avid hiker and advocate of green living, loved and missed by many.
