Thank you to everyone that helped make Vancouver’s contribution to the International Day for Climate Action.
Over 5000 people on the Cambie Street Bridge, along with millions more worldwide, joined together to let our leaders know that we need action on climate change now. We sent a powerful message: Canada needs to become a climate leader and we need to address the causes of climate change right here at home.
We need to give an especially huge thank you to all the volunteers that hung up posters, handed out fliers, made phone calls, painted banners and help out at the event. None of this would have been possible with out your hard work.
There are lots of great pictures on-line from the event here in Vancouver and from events from around the globe. If you have your own pictures from the event you would like to share with us please email them to us at sven@wildernesscommittee.org.

Three things make the Wilderness Committee the ideal environmental volunteer experience for me: first, the Committee has an uncompromising commitment to the environment and wildlife; secondly, its staff is forthright, friendly, passionate, politically savvy, committed, funny, and great to work with; and lastly, the Committee provides constructive opportunities to get directly involved in a wide range of activities, campaigns, and issues for the benefit of the environment and wildlife.
