Volunteer In the Bush

Sunday, May 3, 2009 (All day)

The Wilderness Committee arranges hiking and camping trips throughout BC from late spring to early fall. Often the purpose of these trips is to build hiking trails in endangered wilderness areas which helps promote and protect these unique places. Volunteers have helped build the Carmanahh Trail, the Clayoquot River Valley Trail, the Lost Valley Trail, the Stein Valley Trail and many, many more. Often the Wilderness Committee works with First Nation’s people on trail maintenance expeditions. Click here for the 2010 Trail Club Schedule.

Trail club expeditions can be weekend trip or be as long as 10 days depending on the project.

Activities range from maintaining hiking trails, setting up tents, trail signage, helping with research and survey projects to helping with camp duties, such as building fires and collecting drinking water.
