Volunteers play an integral role in educating the public about Wilderness Committee campaigns. Learn how important it is to stay connected to the community and help raise awareness about wilderness preservation and wildlife protection. There are many ways for people to become community activists and help with public outreach
Rallies and Pickets
Be there when it counts!! The Wilderness Committee holds many demonstrations throughout the year to raise awareness about the campaigns we are working on. Let people know how you feel about wilderness issues by taking action. Put your email address on the volunteer list and find out when and where rallies and pickets are being held. Volunteers are often needed to make banners and pickets, so help out and show off your creativity!
Booths
The Wilderness Committee attends many festivals, conferences and events that need volunteers to help at. At some booths the emphasis is selling Wilderness Committee product whilst at others volunteers are needed to help with collecting signatures for petitions and informing the public about campaigns. Great opportunity to engage the public about environmental issues. Sign up today!!
Put up posters
To advertise events and campaigns, the Wilderness Committee needs help with putting up posters and flyers throughout your community. Take your share of posters and put them up in designated areas. Volunteers who do this work need to work well with the public and with retailers.
Help at Events
Help in a team to prepare or run an event or assist a campaigner. This job requires well-organized and enthusiastic individuals. Your participation will be crucial at community events to raise public awareness. Specific events will take place throughout the year, including summer holiday periods. Volunteers need to work well with public and need to be reliable, motivated and punctual.
