Volunteering In the Office

Volunteers at the Wilderness Committee Vancouver office help out with a variety of different tasks that help support our campaigns.

General Office Work:
Help assist the staff with high priority jobs or work more independently on longer term research projects. Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum of 3 hours a week in our office.

Duties include

  • Data entry
  • Library Assistance
  • Membership and donors servicing
  • Scanning and OCR work
  • Website upkeep
  • Mailroom assistance

Qualifications

  • Ability to follow instructions
  • To work independently
  • Keen and motivated
  • Computer skills including internet research and word processing
  • Reliable and punctual

Research work

Our campaigners and staff need help with projects that involve internet research or collecting information from libraries or other sources. Time commitment for the volunteer is dependent on project needs.

Duties include

  • Writing and producing reports in a timely manner
  • Finding relevant material to research project

Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently with supervision from coordinator
  • Computer research skills necessary
  • Relevant education level is an advantage
