1991 Tsitika must be saved! part 5/5

Thursday, October 10, 1991 (All day)

This is part five of a five part, 47 minute, 1991 video about the fight to protect the lower Tsitika Valley from logging. The Tsitika watershed is located on the northeast coast of Vancouver Island. Though one clearcut was completed by logging company MacMillan Bloeldel on the edge of the lower Tsitika, despite persistant protest by activists, the area was eventually granted provincial park protection in 1995 and is now off limits to logging.
