1993 Stumpy comes to Vancouver TV news story

Wednesday, September 15, 1993 (All day)

This is a short TV news story about the arrival of the Wilderness Committee's "Stumpy" in Vancouver on its way to Ottawa. "Stumpy" was used as a "publicity stump" by the Wilderness Committee to draw attention to the fight to save the pristine valleys of Clayoquot Sound from logging. Over a period of several years Stumpy travelled across Canada, into the USA and across much of western Europe. Stumpy is originally from the Clayoquot River Valley.
