This is a seven minute, 1999 video about the Wilderness Committee's proposed Stoltmann National Park. Although the Stoltmann Wilderness never attained National Park status, the valleys of the Stoltmann Wilderness were one by one granted legislative protection, until by 2008 they were all off-limits to logging. These include the Sims, Clendenning, Upper Elaho and Upper Lillooet Valleys.
The Wilderness Committee is the most grassroots environmental organization I have ever encountered. I have taken part in several projects where volunteers were in charge and staff in a support role. It's very empowering, and I have also made friends for life.
