This is part three of a three part , 24 minute, 2002 video of a TV news report about the debate over whether or not Provincial Parks should remain free for all to use, regardless of a person's ability to pay fees for use.
Since this news report went to air, the BC government has brought in some additional fees in Provincial Parks, including fees for firewood, parking and backcountry camping. At the same time services such as hiking trail maintanence have declined. The Wilderness Committee continues to push for increased parks budgets, and elimination of most fees - based on the idea that parks already pay for themselves through their support of the province's tourism and recreation industries.
