Virtual Gathering for Eagle Eyes - Gordon August

Today will mark two years since the passing of respected shíshálh (Sechelt) elder Eagle Eyes. Last year family, friends and co-fighters came together in Stanley Park to mark his extraordinary life. Together we shared food, songs and stories about Eagle Eyes and the many lives he touched.

Due to current Covid-19 health and safety regulations we are unable to meet physically. So, this year family, friends, and co-fighters we will be joining together, this time online, to honour the life of Eagle Eyes and once again sharing stories and song.

Those who did not have the opportunity to meet Eagle Eyes in person are still encouraged and welcome to join. They will learn about and incredible human being, who survived the Residential School system, loved his family deeply, smiled easily, and made many contributions to the struggle for social and climate justice. Eagle Eyes never gave up and was always looking for ways to bring people together in the fight for a better world.
