Rally Against Site C

Join us in a rally outside the BC Supreme Court, in solidarity with the Treaty 8 Prophet River and West Moberly First Nations & Land Defenders in their fight against Site C Dam!

The rally is on the day of the Peace River Landowner Association's court challenge against the project.

At BC Supreme Court (Hornby and Nelson entrance)

There are presently 3 court appeals and 1 judicial review pending regarding the Site C dam.

West Moberly and Prophet River First Nations and the Peace Valley Landowner Association continue to pursue judicial reviews of the approval of the dam. The Landowner’s case is at the appeal stage before the provincial courts and will be heard on April 4th & 5th.

The West Moberly & Prophet River First Nations case is also at the appeal stage before both the Federal and Provincial courts.
The dates for the First Nations appeals have not yet been set.

Site C is a proposed 60-metre high, 1,050-metre-long hydroelectric dam on the Peace River on Treaty 8 territory in northeastern British Columbia. It would create an 83-kilometre-long reservoir submerging 78 First Nations heritage sites, burial grounds and places of cultural and spiritual significance in flagrant violation of the Constitution Act, while also flooding approximately 5,550 hectares of ALR land.
