Save Lake Winnipeg and Lake Manitoba Forum

After a recent announcement by the Global Nature Fund deeming Lake Winnipeg the most threatened lake of 2013, Manitoba Campaigns Director Eric Reder will be part of a panel at an environmental forum to pinpoint ways the provincial government could act to reverse the impacts we are having on our lakes.

Eric will be talking about how curtailing peat mining is an important step in protecting our cherished lakes—a step that has been avoided for far too long by the Manitoba government.

The forum will take place on Sunday, February 10 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at River Heights Community Centre (1370 Grosvenor Ave., Winnipeg).

The other panelists will be:
- Greg McCullough, PhD, Research Scientist, University of Manitoba
- Pascal Badiou, PhD, Research Scientist, Ducks Unlimited Canada
- John Shearer, former Senior Biologist and Operations Manager for Experimental Lakes Area (ELA)
