Stand Up for BC Parks: Day of Action

On July 19th, Canada Parks Day, British Columbians will be gathering in parks across the province for to #StandUpforParks and call on the BC government to protect our natural spaces from industrial activity.

Bill 4 (the Park Amendment Act), which was passed earlier this year, poses a threat to the integrity of BC Parks. This new law allows for logging and pipeline companies to conduct "research" in parks and protected areas.

Afterwards, companies are able to apply to remove sections of the park under the Park Boundary Adjustment Policy so that they can proceed with industrial projects such as logging or building new pipelines.

No pipelines in parks! Repeal the Park Amendment Act.

Help spread the word about the July 19th Day of Action! Take a photo in your favourite park and share it with us on Twitter and Facebook using the hashtag #StandUpforParks!

RSVP and invite your friends: https://www.facebook.com/events/1453672414888131/

We will have postcards available on the day of the event that can be sent to the BC Minister of Environment so that you can share your thoughts about allowing industry to conduct "research" in BC Parks.

Join an event near you, or plan your own Parks Day event and tell us about it!
