A new report on BC's management of grizzly bears and their habitat by the Provincial Auditor General is a real shocker. It documents how much was promised (the moon) and how much was delivered (diddly squat). One example held out is the case of the Cascade population of BC's grizzly bears. The Manning Park Donut Hole is in this region which includes Manning and Skagit Provincial Parks. The report says that the Cascade population was targeted by the BC government as the most deserving for recovery efforts, yet little has been done to improve the population's chance for survival.
