Become a Wilderness Committee Trailblazer!
As you’ve probably noticed, we’ve been making a few changes around here lately. 2015 marks the Wilderness Committee’s 35th Anniversary, and we’ve launched a year-long celebration. One of the things that we’ve done to mark the occasion is to rename our monthly giving program. Monthly donors who previously belonged to the Wilderness Savings Plan are now members of the Wilderness Committee Trailblazers!
For more than three decades, the Wilderness Committee has used trail building and maintenance as a way to deter logging, provide access to remote areas for scientists, photographers and activists, and introduce the public to our forests. Trail building as a campaign strategy has been a unique and powerful tool for the Wilderness Committee, and that’s why we chose to honour our monthly givers, our most valued donors, as Trailblazers.
Trailblazers pledge ongoing support to the Wilderness Committee by making a monthly gift via direct payment or credit card. They give us the support we need to continue protecting Canada’s sparkling waters, snow-capped peaks, arid plains and towering ancient trees – and the incredible creatures that depend on them! Trailblazers are truly the heart and soul of our organization.
Becoming a monthly giver is an incredibly powerful way to help your favourite charity. Monthly gifts help charities set predictable budgets and facilitate long-term planning. They also reduce administrative and postage costs, and allow us to allocate our resources more efficiently. In the uncertain world of non-profits, being able to accurately forecast a portion of our revenue, and be assured that it will be consistent from month-to-month, is a huge relief.
For less than a dollar per day, you can support the work that charities do in your community around the globe. Considering donating the equivalent of one hour’s wages, one meal out, or one ticket to a show or film, and you can have a dramatic impact on an organization’s ability to plan and execute.
