Come Ride With Us On the Bike for the 'Bou Witness Tour

Friday, May 20, 2016

We’re biking for the ‘bou, and you should too! Join us on June 4-5 as we visit the beautiful boreal home of the threatened woodland caribou in eastern Manitoba.

I love putting on events where people can experience the wild up close, and our Bike for the 'Bou will do just that. Making that trek through the gorgous boreal forest is so fulfilling, because you get to see species and wilderness that you might've only seen from postcards or TV. That moment of taking it all can be that gamechanger in getting yourself to think differently about how to conserve Manitoba's wildest places.

And for only $50 you can:

See the signs of moose, wolf and bear; hear the call of songbirds; feel the serenity emanating from the clean rivers flowing through to Lake Winnipeg.

Our vehicle will haul camping gear, and meals are provided. Camping gear and car pooling can be arranged too (we know the struggle!)

We will bike 30 km on old gravel and sand logging roads, camp in the gorgeous forest, and bike the same distance back the next day.

Please register by May 31, 2016, as spaces do fill up quickly for our tours. To register, or for more information, contact us at: contactmb@wildernesscommittee.org or (204)-997-8584

When: June 4 - 5, 2016
Where: Boreal Forest, east of Lake Winnipeg

This event is supported in part by The Winnipeg Foundation.

I know most people don’t get to see the amazing wild lands that I get to work in. This event will help you feel some of the wonder that wilderness provides. It’s with your continued support that we work to protect Manitoba’s rich nature, and we hope to see you on this tour.
