Ecojustice to announce new wildlife lawsuit Wednesday

VANCOUVER – Ecojustice will be joined by the Wilderness Committee and Sierra Club B.C. for a media briefing Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 10:30 a.m. PT. The groups will announce the launch of a new species at risk litigation against the federal government.
The case focuses on four species — the Pacific Humpback Whale, Nechako White Sturgeon, Marbled Murrelet and Southern Mountain Caribou — that live along the proposed Northern Gateway pipeline and shipping route.
Ecojustice is bringing the case before the Federal Court on behalf of five environmental groups: the David Suzuki Foundation, Greenpeace Canada, Sierra Club B.C., Wilderness Committee and Wildsight.
