A Climate Campaigner with an organization called the Wilderness Committee says there's a deficit of information when it comes to the liquified natural gas industry in this province.

Eoin Madden says many people don't realize that much of the liquified natural gas in B.C. is retrieved using fracking.

He says that's the controversial method of mining that uses lots of fresh water and it causes climate change.

At the invitation of concerned individuals on Salt Spring Island, a town hall style meeting will be held tomorrow (Fri) and Madden, along with the Skeena Watershed Conservation Coalition will talk about the risks and impacts assocated with a liquified natural gas industry boom in the province.

The meeting will be held at All Saints by the Sea Church beginning at 2.

Madden says it will start with a panel of speakers, there will be time for questions and then it will be up to the community to decide where to stand on the issue.
