Give a Wild Gift This Holiday Season!

Thursday, December 13, 2012

Last night I woke with a start. I had dreamed that all I got for Christmas was coal! Not just a lump of coal in the bottom of my old woolen sock, but mountains of coal—huge towering heaps of coal blacking out the sky.

Then it struck me…just the day before my dream, I had been in Delta and Surrey helping to make a video aimed at stopping the massive coal port expansion projects that are proposed for throughout Port Metro Vancouver.

I guess the stress we all feel at the Wilderness Committee is understandable. It has certainly been a challenging year for the environment! Even Santa’s own reindeer are not safe, as caribou in Manitoba and British Columbia are threatened by the destruction of their forest habitat and by the lack of protection under the Federal Species at Risk Act.

But thanks to folks like you, these challenges are bearable—all because of your support and the hope that it gives for the future. Thank you for continuing to stand up for Canada’s legacy of fresh air, clean water, wild spaces and wild species!

Lately we’ve seen that many people from all walks of life have been stepping forward in defence of our environment—and that's a reason for great hope! But there's still a lot of work to be done.

Please consider making a donation now to help us build a future that we can all feel good about. Your donation of $25.00, $50.00 or even $100.00 will go a long way to making sure the Grinch doesn’t win out now, or in the future. Click here to make a donation now!

Thanks again for all your support. Wishing you a wonderful holiday season!

Sincerely,

Joe Foy | National Campaign Director
