Kinder Morgan Pipeline
CJFC TV 7 Kamloops News
A Wilderness Committee spokesman suspects residents of communities from Alberta to Burnaby - including Kamloops, will fight against a planned $5-billion Kinder Morgan pipeline upgrade.
The environmental watchdog group calls the pipeline an accident waiting to happen, adding some 300-thousand barrels of oil a day moves through the line now. Kinder Morgan hopes to more than double the capacity of its Trans-Mountain pipes more than doubling the amount of oil it moves through the province. Kinder Morgan's Andrew Galarnyk says the public consultation will be transparent and open, and will involve the public, first nations and government. He says if approved it could take up to 5 years before construction even began.
