Make a phone call to protect our farms and forest! Demand a moratorium on urban sprawl on March 16th

In the Capital Regional district creeping urban sprawl is putting our forests and our farms at risk. In the Juan de Fuca forest lands, a 250 cabin resort destination is being proposed on the board of the Juan de Fuca trail. In Saanich, proposed developments threatened to pave over some our our regions best agricultural lands - like the controversy around the sale of Vantreight Farms.

Visit one of the following phone booth locations or call on your own to tell Capital Regional District Board members that you support protecting our farms and our forests from reckless real estate development.

BC legislature - 11:30am to 3pm

- Concerned about the destruction of farm and forest land because (pick your strongest one and stick to it): food security, poverty, natural areas, recreation, First Nations rights, climate change, local economies, sustainability.. etc.
-The re-zoning application for Ender Ilkay's proposed development on the Juan de Fuca forest lands should be denied.
-The CRD should act to protect farmland in Central Saanich to enhance local food security
- The CRD should create a moratorium on that acts in contraction to the regional growth strategy
