A VANCOUVER ISLAND ENVIRONMENTAL CRUSADER WILL LEAVE HIS POST WITH THE WESTERN CANADA WILDERNESS COMMITTEE COME JANUARY.KEN WU WILL STEP DOWN AS THE ORGANIZATION'S PUBLIC FACE AND CAMPAIGN COORDINATOR FOR THE ISLAND.
"I'VE ACTUALLY SURPASSED 10-YEARS AT THE WILDERNESS COMMITTEE. IT'S ACTUALLY 10-AND-A-HALF-YEARS NOW," SAYS WU.
"I REMEMBER THINKING AROUND 2003, WHEN I TURNED 30-YEARS-OLD, I'M DOING SOME EXCELLENT STUFF THAT I REALLY BELIEVE IN. BUT, AT THE SAME TIME, IT WOULD BE GOOD TO GET A DIVERSITY OF EXPERIENCES – LEARN HOW TO BUILD CAMPAIGNS WITH A VARIETY OF ORGANIZATIONS. TRAVEL FOR A WHILE."
WORKING ON FEDERAL GREEN LEADER ELIZABETH MAY'S ELECTION CAMPAIGN IN SAANICH / GULF ISLANDS IS ONE EXPERIENCE HE’D LIKE TO HAVE.
HE SAYS THIS ISN'T THE END OF HIS COMMITMENT TO THE LOCAL ENVIRONMENTAL MOVEMENT, "I DO WANT TO CONTINUE WITH THE OLD GROWTH FOREST CAMPAIGNS HERE.”
WU WAS SPEAKING ON CFAX 1070'S PUBLIC EYE RADIO WITH SEAN HOLMAN.
