Showing support for Coast Salish First Nations protecting their lands and waters
VANCOUVER – This afternoon, local groups are hosting the Save the Salish Sea Festival—a family-friendly concert in support of Coast Salish First Nations opposed to Kinder Morgan's new Trans Mountain pipeline project and increased oil tanker traffic in the Burrard Inlet.
What: A free event with 20+ live musical acts, DJ's, special guest speakers, local Indigenous artisans, interactive art displays and murals, a kids zone, information tables, Indigenous food, and much more.
When: Sunday, September 2, 2012

Who: Co-hosted by the Squamish Nation, the Wilderness Committee and Tanker Free BC, with additional support from W2 Community Media Arts and Transformation Projects. With musical performances by The Boom Booms, Wayne Lavallee, Maga Bo (Brazil), Kia Kadiri, 11 year old sensation Ta'Kaiya Blaney, Phyllis Sinclair and many more.
