Abbotsford residents had the chance to learn about the potential environmental impacts of a proposed pipeline expansion Wednesday evening.

The Wilderness Committee and other groups hosted a town hall to answer questions and rally people against Kinder Morgan's plan to finish twinning its Trans Mountain Pipeline.

"It's been really overwhelming. As we've done these town hall meetings and we've moved throughout the Metro Van(couver) region and up into the Fraser Valley, we're hearing the same kind of concerns from people no matter where we go. I think what we're going to find is that whether it's the Enbridge Pipeline or the Kinder Morgan Pipeline, people in BC just don't want to be an export facility for the oilsands."

Ben West says another meeting is set next week in Chilliwack, and others will be held in Burnaby, North Vancouver, Kamloops and other places along the pipeline's path.
