Last Friday night, July 17th, "Tum Tum - Voice of Wild Salmon" mascot was joined by several wild salmon defenders: Ana Santos and Jack Cooley of Wild Salmon Action Circle from Squamish, and Graham Girard, Rick Glumac and Geoff Senichenko from the Wilderness Committee. Under Graham's leadership, we set up a mobile video station in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery steps on Robson Street in downtown Vancouver where we showed Watershed Watch's new salmon farming short animation video for people passing by to see and learn about how salmon farming sea lice and practices are harming wild salmon. The group also handed out literature, had people sign action cards and petitions. All in all it was a great success in reaching out to people unaware of the issues with salmon farming. Everyone loved Tum Tum too! Looking forward to our next outreach event.
