The Prime Minister's visit to Nanaimo today was the second stop on Stephen Harper's tour of Vancouver Island. Earlier in the day Harper was met by people protesting a proposed coal mine in the Comox Valley. The group rallied outside a shellfish research centre under construction in Deep Bay. The protesters knowing that the PM was inside for a photo-op were anxious to have their voices heard.
