The Western Canada Wilderness Committee has joined the fight against logging in the Brown's Creek area near Vernon.
Six members of the committee have joined the Okanagan Indian Band blockade of roads into the region. The band launched the protest this week, fearing Tolko's plans for logging would destroy water quality.
WCWC Scientist Andy Miller describes previous logging in that area as ``incredibly disrespectful'' to the community's water source.
Miller says Wilderness Committee members will not interfere with Tolko's court order and will stand aside if ordered by the RCMP. A judge is expected to rule today on Tolko's application for an enforcement order of an injunction preventing interference on logging activities in Brown's Creek.
