A Winnipeg environmental group has been denied intervenor status in a review of the proposed Energy East pipeline.

The Wilderness Committee has fought changes to the National Energy Board Act since they were made in 2012, requiring groups to be approved before being allowed to provide input into major projects. The Liberals have promised to overhaul the legislation, but it's not yet in effect.
