Will you take the pledge to Save the Salish Sea?

From proposed coal terminals to tar sands pipelines and tankers to liquefied natural gas (LNG) ports, the Salish Sea is poised to become a major export corridor for the dirtiest fuels on the planet. Fossil fuel companies on both sides of the U.S.-Canada border are eyeing the waters of the Strait of Georgia, Strait of Juan de Fuca and Puget Sound as a gateway to export their products to Asian markets.

We can’t keep considering these projects in isolation from one another. It’s time to look at the big picture.

So we at the Wilderness Committee and Georgia Strait Alliance, in collaboration with U.S. partners, created the Pledge to Save the Salish Sea as a way to build solidarity between all the peoples living around this unique body of water. We are asking everyone who cares about this incredible place to join together to demand that new oil, coal and gas export facilities along the shores of the Salish Sea be rejected.

By taking the Pledge, you’ll become part of an ever-growing community of concerned citizens taking on the greatest challenge of our generation: stopping climate change. Please check out the new Salish Sea website at SalishSeaAction.org, and add your name to the growing list of people demanding climate action in this part of the world!

You can play an even greater role by circulating the Pledge amongst your friends and family, to help spread the word about this powerful new initiative.

There’s no time like the present – so please take the Pledge to Save the Salish Sea!
