Caitlin (she/her) currently resides in Vancouver on unceded xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh and səlilwətaɬ territories.
Caitlin is a lawyer at First Peoples Law, privileged to work with Indigenous Peoples across Canada to assist in advancing their inherent and constitutionally protected rights. She assists Indigenous Peoples in structuring and leading their own environmental assessment processes, addressing the legacy of contaminated sites in their territories, and ensuring governments address and manage the cumulative effects of industrial development on the exercise of Indigenous rights. Her experience from the non-profit sector includes work for First Nation clients to develop wildlife management and Indigenous guardianship programs, and advocate for mining law reforms, during her time working at the University of Victoria’s Environmental Law Centre. She volunteers with environmental NGOs and political parties, with a particular focus on climate action, since high school. She is grateful to support the Wilderness Committee's important work to fight climate change, defend wildlife, and protect nature while partnering with Indigenous Nations and respecting Indigenous governance rights. She enjoys swimming in the ocean (with the help of a wetsuit) and various other forms of movement in the great outdoors (running, cycling).
