Dena ensures Wilderness Committee’s amazing donors are well-informed about everything we’re able to do because of their dedication and support. Dena works on the unceded Coast Salish Territories. Dena’s love for nature comes from a deep sense of our connectivity to and interdependence to the Earth. Her work before the Wilderness Committee included public education and fundraising in mental health and activist-oriented HIV/AIDS fields. Dena can't decide if she's a salmon or a mermaid: born on one coast (Nanaimo) and educated on the other (Halifax) – like a good salmon does – Dena returned home to the Salish Sea. She's been swimming in every river, lake and ocean she can ever since. Dena feels her lifelong work with nonprofits is a calling, and she is energized and inspired every day at the Wilderness Committee by the passionate donors and supporters who power this movement.
