Freny (she/her) currently resides in Vancouver on unceded xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh and səlilwətaɬ territories.
Freny is a journalist-turned-conservation communicator who handles all the editorial needs of the Wilderness Committee. In addition to ensuring the consistency, timeliness and professionalism of its print and online publications, she also oversees the organization’s media strategy. Before joining this incredible team of social change makers, Freny worked with news organizations including The Conversation Canada, The Tyee and The Times of India. She is an amateur photographer, birder and a biophile who loves all things green. Her mission, now, is to provide the media, and the public, with accurate information on wilderness issues ranging from the logging of old-growth forests to the survival of the last spotted owl.
