Isabel (she/her) currently resides in Vancouver on unceded xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh and səlilwətaɬ territories.
Isabel works on mobilizing against the expansion of the fossil fuel industry and towards a post-carbon world grounded in climate and social justice. She grew up in Boston area in the United States before moving as an uninvited guest to the continuously occupied xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh and səlilwətaɬ territories to attend UBC, where she completed her degree in International Relations. Before coming to the Wilderness Committee, Isabel held a couple climate and sustainability related roles in student engagement, policy and research and spent several years involved in community organizing around housing justice, harm reduction and international solidarity for Palestinian liberation. She is excited to continue to work on the intersections of social and climate justice in the pursuit of an equitable and safe future. In her free time, Isabel loves running (on roads, trails, as a form of commuting…), walks and hikes with friends, and has recently become an avid cycling fan and aspiring cyclist – basically she’ll do any activity besides being still.
