Clayoquot - a heritage worth protecting
Friday, July 15, 1994
This is a 1994 Wilderness Committee education report about the campaign to protect the intact valleys of Clayoquot Sound. The report looks at the three hiking trails that were built into the ancient forests - Meares Island Big Tree Trail, Clayoquot Valley Witness Trail and the Wildside Trail on Flores Island.
In 2000 the Clayoquot Sound UNESCO Biosphere Reserve was designated. The Wilderness Committee continues to work with our allies to see all of Clayoquot's intact forest areas protected from logging.
