Save Lasca
Monday, June 15, 1992
This is a 1992 Wilderness Committee education report about the fight to save the Lasca Creek area, nick-named the Wolverine Wilderness. Laska Creek is located near Nelson BC in the West Kootenay region of the province. The report explains how recent logging road construction in the area had spurred a protest blockade by local people.
In 1995 the campaign to save the Lasca Creek wilderness met with success when this area was protected within the West Arm Provincial Park. See our History and Achievements page.
