Stein Valley - The choice is ours
Thursday, October 15, 1987
This is a 1987 Wilderness Committee education report about the rekindled fight over the fate of the Stein River Valley. BC's Forest Minister had just declared the Stein would be logged and the Lytton and the Mount Currie First Nations had just released their Stein Declaration, which proclaimed that the Stein would be protected forever.
It took a number of years, but in 1995 the Lytton and the Mount Currie First Nations' vision came true with the establishment of the Stein Valley Nlaka’pamux Heritage Park. See our History and Achievments page.
