Conserving Old Growth Forests in BC - This is a June 2012 BC Forest Practices Board report about the state of old growth forest preservation in BC. The report finds that the BC government's program to conserve old growth forests is in disaray with forest managers unsure which old growth forests have been protected. Report of the Special Committee on Timber Supply - This is an August 2012 report by BC's all-party Special Committee on Timber Supply that looked at ways to compensate for timber lost to the Pine Beetle outbreak of the past several years.  Environmental groups argued that all currently protected old growth forests should continue to be off-limits to logging - but unfortunatly, the Special Committee recomended looking at possible logging of protected old growth forests as a potential timber supply for lumber mills.
