Public forum to address concerns over Energy East Pipeline proposal
Media Advisory - February 19, 2015
WINNIPEG - The Wilderness Committee, Manitoba Eco-Network and Climate Change Connection, along with The University of Winnipeg, are hosting a public forum and panel discussion to help educate Manitobans about the proposed TransCanada Energy East pipeline.
WHY: If built, the Energy East pipeline will carry oil from the tar sands 400 kilometres across Manitoba. The National Energy Board (NEB) has just begun accepting applications for its public review of the proposal, and citizens have raised many questions and concerns about the benefits and risks associated with the project – particularly the impact it would have on the climate.

WHERE: Eckhardt-Gramatté Hall
